Tax Refunds for Speech and Language Therapy
Speech and Language Therapy fees are tax deductible, via myAccount or Revenue Online Service. Revenue's website is here.
Health Insurance
A number of insurance plans provide some cover for Speech and Language Therapy fees. Please check with your health insurance provider; you can compare health insurance policies through the Health Insurance Authority's website here.
Payment Procedure
Fees are payable in advance of teletherapy and face-to-face sessions if using electronic means (bank transfer / Square invoice / PayPal / Revolut / N26). You can also pay by cash or card on the day of attendance, if it is a face-to-face appointment.
For new clients, a €50 booking deposit is requested and can be paid here via Square, when your appointment date has been confirmed with Louise. This deposit is redeemable against the cost of the session booked. Payment of the deposit is requested within 3 days of the link being sent to you by Louise. The deposit is fully refundable (minus Square administrative fees) if the appointment is cancelled or rescheduled more than 24 hours before the appointment.
Cancellation Policy
The following cancellation policy is in operation:
Cancellation less than 24 hours before appointment time: 50% of fee due.
This is because, without sufficient notice, another client cannot be notified to be offered the session time you have booked. In these instances the Speech and Language Therapist’s time will be used to prepare materials for you which will be sent to you in lieu of the session.

Don't forget, if you attend(ed) Speech and Language Therapy through a public or private service, you may already have an up-to-date Speech and Language Therapy assessment report.
INTERVENTION / THERAPY OPTIONS FEES
If intervention is indicated from assessment findings (or if you already have an up-to-date Speech and Language Therapy assessment report), you may wish to consider the following available options:
1. Therapy sessions (Face-to-face or Online teletherapy)
You / your child / loved one may not require weekly therapy. For example, very young children are often best attending for short sessions at two- and three- weekly intervals. Clients will have specific goals to work on between therapy sessions. In consultation with the Speech and Language Therapist, you choose the intensity and session length that best suits your family life. Therapy may be offered via face-to-face sessions or online teletherapy. If it will not be possible to offer therapy post-assessment, due to scheduling constraints, you will be advised in advance of the assessment appointment and a list of other private Speech and Language Therapists working in Donegal and offering therapy sessions will be provided to you.
2. Home / school programmes
Written home / school programmes designed to target specific speech / language goals identified on assessment. Price includes discussion with clients and/or teacher on how to carry out the individualised programme.
